The Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise appellation

Southern Rhône Valley

Terroir

Sun-drenched hillsides and terraces dating back hundreds of years, once used for olive growing, facing due south on the southern slopes of the famous Dentelles de Montmirail. Varied soils of stony limestone, sandstone, sand and marl.

Grape varieties

Muscat à petits grains - white or red - is the only grape variety for this appellation.
The bunches are harvested by hand in successive passes depending on their ripeness, the grapes must have a sugar content of more than 252 g/l, mutage (addition of pure alcohol to the musts) must be carried out during fermentation with a minimum of 96% pure alcohol, the wines must contain a minimum of 100g/l sugar and have a minimum acquired alcohol content of 15%.

Wine style

This sweet natural wine has a brilliant golden colour. Fine and full-bodied, it has aromas of lychee and exotic fruit when drunk young. As it matures, it takes on more complex notes of quince and hazelnut. Serve chilled as an aperitif or with dessert.
