The wines come from the rolled pebble terraces of the Ouvèze, a terroir that provides great aromatic finesse and a subtle touch of acidity.
Grape varieties
Overall, the vineyard's grape varieties favour Grenache, complemented by Syrah and Mourvèdre, equally classic grape varieties of the southern Rhône Valley.
Wine style
The Gigondas AOC produces wines that are renowned for being powerful, full-bodied and tannic. They have a bouquet of spices and black olives, and a dark colour. These are very good wines for laying down, and can be enjoyed for up to ten years.
