The Côtes de Provence appellation

Provence

Terroir

The terroir is made up of a complex geology comprising two main areas: one to the north-west, made up of limestone hills, and the other to the south-east, made up of crystalline rock.

Grape varieties

Reds, rosés and whites are made from the traditional grape varieties of Provence (Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Clairette, Sémillon, etc.).
For rosés, Cinsault is the dominant grape variety.

Wine style

Rosés are the hallmark of this AOC, accounting for 80% of production. The blend (the proportion of Syrah being decisive) and the length of the vatting period influence the intensity of the colour.
Their aromas have notes of white and yellow fruit, and even vanilla, brioche or hazelnut when the wines have been matured on their lees.
